8-year-old dies after ATV she was riding lands on top of her – family shares heartbreaking statement

 

An 8-year-old girl has died after an ATV crash while on a family trip to Oklahoma with her family.

Kinsley Williams, 8, died on June 17 after the all-terrain vehicle she was driving overturned, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Authorities told local outlets that the child was traveling at a high speed and attempting to make a left turn when the ATV rolled over, according to People.

Troopers said Kinsley was thrown from the vehicle before it landed on top of her. She was pronounced dead shortly after the crash. Her younger brother was also riding on the ATV at the time but was not injured.

Speaking to KTEN, Kinsley’s mother, Amber, said the family spent hours searching for the 8-year-old before authorities were called to the scene at about 10 p.m. local time. The family had been visiting Oklahoma from Texas when the tragedy

“She was a bright, adventurous spirit”

Remembering her daughter, Amber described Kinsley as a child who brought joy to those around her.

“She was full of spark and energy and always so goofy, silly, and just always makes you laugh,” she told the outlet, according to People.

“She always helped other people and even strangers. She saw she wanted to give and help feed them,” added the grieving mother.

“She helped with her brothers and always wanted to make people laugh and bring them up when they were down,” Amber continued. “[She] was always… outgoing and very adventurous.”
